Buskers are people who turn public spaces into stages where they present an artistic or entertainment programme. Their remuneration is a “hat” (tips from the audience), loud applause and smiles on the faces of the audience.
Who can you meet on the streets? Musicians, jugglers, acrobats, puppet theatres, fire performers, magicians, and the list goes on.
Some of them make a living out of busking, for others it is an adventure, an opportunity to meet friends or to see how the audience reacts to their new songs or circus acts.
I invite you to read their stories. I asked them why they perform in the street, what advice they have for people who are starting their adventure with busking, how they manage to attract the passers-by and how to build shows so that the audience stays until the end.
